TOMATOES

The tomato program at Gentile Bros. Company is managed by Dave Schirmann. Dave has over 27 years experience in the produce industry with extensive work in domestic products. Dave procures all varieties of tomatoes; gas green, vine ripe, homegrown and hydroponic, depending on season and on customer demands. Gentile Bros. has over 25 state-of-the-art pressurized ripening rooms with automatic tarps and humidity systems to ripen the tomatoes to specific ripeness. Before tomato orders are shipped, our state-of-the-art compac computerized color sorter runs all tomatoes at Gentile Bros. Tomatoes are first placed into a chlorine water dump and then rinsed a second time to protect against biohazards. Tomatoes are then sorted by size color and packed to customer's exact specifications. Gentile Bros. also has an Exact machine, which provides customers with over rap product with pricing, weights and UPC codes available at customers request. Gentile Bros. packs in customer specific boxes and customer specific pack sizes.

Dave Schirmann also handles the conditioning of honeydews, avocadoes, mangoes, papayas, cantaloupe, specialty melons and also the procurement and sales of domestic fruits and vegetables. The domestic fruits and vegetables have a separate division that handles the repackaging of the product in any count or weight the customer requests.
